What is a CHW Ambassador

South Carolina Community Health Worker (CHW) ambassadors are a diverse group selected to provide expertise, advice, and guidance to statewide partners and fellow CHWs across the state.

  • Throughout the year, Ambassadors convene quarterly to discuss and advise CCHA on a variety of health workforce issues including leadership skills, CHW career advancement, health equity, CHW training, CHW employment practices, and program evaluation.

How do Ambassadors impact health?

Community Health Worker Ambassadors provide the Center for Community Health Alignment with expertise in specific specialities and come from various healthcare and community-based organizations, serving rural and urban areas of the state.

  • Ambassadors receive training to provide them with the information and skills needed to be successful in delivering and advancing community health services regionally, statewide, and nationally.

    Throughout the year, CHW Ambassadors discuss and advise CCHA and the SC Community Health Worker Association on a variety of topics including leadership CHW career advancement, health equity, CHW training and employment practices, community engagement and program evaluation.
