Andrea Lee has more than two decades of experience working alongside community-based organizations, public health agencies, and healthcare systems to improve access to services, support youth and families, and build the capacity of the community health worker (CHW) workforce. Her work centers on youth services, interpersonal violence prevention, family planning, and community health worker interventions.
Andrea’s public health journey began at eighteen, when she served as a health educator and community advocate at the University of South Carolina, raising awareness and connecting students to essential interpersonal violence and sexual health services. Drawing from her direct experience as a community health worker, she now focuses on strengthening the capacity and long-term sustainability of the community health workforce across systems and statewide.
Andrea holds a Master of Health Science in Health Education and Health Communication from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina.
