North Carolina’s Standardized Core Competency Training (SCCT) was co-authored by North Carolina CHWs Jennifer Norville and Erica Hall. Their CHW Core Competencies are based on the C3 Project’s National Core Competencies for CHWs.

Specialization

Referred to as “Levels”, there are four Levels of specialization that one can achieve: CHW I, II, III, IV. These Levels are intended to reflect a progression in experience and professional development. Please see NCCHWA’s website for more detail on each level.

Instructors must be experienced CHWs that have completed the SCCT instructor training.
