Non-Medical Factors Impacting Health (NMFIH)
The Center for Community Health Alignment (CCHA) serves as the administrative lead for the South Carolina Roadmap to Address Nonmedical Factors Impacting Health (SC Roadmap). Through this statewide initiative, CCHA works with partners across sectors to align efforts, share learning, and support coordinated approaches to addressing NMFIH. The SC Roadmap provides a common framework to guide collaboration, promote consistency in practice, and support communities and organizations in addressing NMFIH in ways that reflect local priorities and needs.
CCHA also supports partners through training, technical assistance, and capacity-building activities that help organizations integrate NMFIH into policies, programs, and service delivery models. (add a link to the SC Roadmap)
Training and Capacity Building
To support organizations in addressing NMFIH, CCHA offers and is preparing to expand a range of training and learning opportunities for clinical, community-based, and cross-sector partners. These efforts are designed to build practical skills, strengthen coordination, and support sustainable approaches to NMFIH.
PLACE Academy
The PLACE Academy (Prioritizing Long-Lasting Actionable Community Engagement) is one of CCHA’s training offerings developed in support of the SC Roadmap. The PLACE Academy focuses on strengthening meaningful community engagement practices and building the capacity of organizations to partner effectively with communities.
NMFIH and Workforce Trainings
CCHA also provides training and technical assistance to help organizations understand and address NMFIH in clinical and community settings
